Why Shrimp Burgers?
These shrimp burgers provide a healthy, hearty meal that will shock any who try. It comes together quickly for a simple weeknight dish. I came up with the idea when we ran out of ground beef I planned to use to make burgers and only had shrimp left in the freezer. Blending half the shrimp creates a binder that helps the shrimp chunks hold together while still providing a substantial bite. Who knew something so small could pack such a big punch?!
I think my favorite thing about this dish is that when you make the burger mixture, it has a gray color and looks completely unappetizing… When you fry them up, they transform into a bright red color that is infinitely more appealing.
The Mayo
The spicy mayo provides the perfect complement to these hearty shrimp burgers. Created from sun ripened chilies pureed into a smooth paste, sriracha gives the mayo an amazing spice that awakens the flavors of the burgers. If you don’t have sriracha on hand, any hot sauce will do. Lemon pairs well with any type of seafood. Old bay has 75 years of history making seafood taste amazing. When you bring all these ingredients together you get a spicy, creamy mayo that you can slather over your juicy shrimp burgers.
Cooking the Burgers
The burgers cook in less than 10 minutes. One of the best things about shrimp is that they cook quickly which is why this is a perfect dish for a weeknight meal. Heat some vegetable oil over medium high heat in a skillet, toss them in, and they’re done before you know it. After trying this recipe, you’ll surely be back for a repeat performance.

Tried this recipe and it was delicious! The chunky bites of shrimp provide a wonderful pop of texture and my whole family loved how the patty was made mostly with shrimp and spices instead of whatever fillers you get from restaurants! Give this recipe a try and you won’t regret it. We are putting this one on weekly rotation. My mouth’s watering just thinking about it…
